A B5 racing special was driven by UK Stoewer agent, Mr Turner-Smith  at Brooklands  on three occasions during 1912.  On 18th June he averaged 85.88 kph over a 50 km trial.  On 8th August he recorded 101.42 kph for a flying km and on 7th November he established a Class A speed record of 108.85 kph (67.4 mph) for the flying kilometre.  Immediately after establishing this record he loaded the car with 2,259 lbs of pig iron and a 13 stone passenger (total 1044 kg) and drove up the Brooklands "Test Hill" which had a gradient of 1 in 4.  Class A was defined by the British Automobile Racing Club as being a car with less than 1,639 cc engine capacity and minimum weight with driver of 1,400lb (635 Kg).
