V5S  (1931)

This was the first front-wheel-drive car, Chassis No: 20,001 and Engine No: 21,001.  After exhibition in the Berlin Motor Show, February 1931,  it was purchased by Anni Minartz who raced it successfully. She sold it to a university student in Berlin in 1936. During the war it was used for target practice by the Russian army.  Its pieces were then all collected and reassembled after the war by an enthusiast.  It was acquired by its present owner in 2003 and a full restoration was completed in 2010 by Werner Zinke of Zwonitz. It is the sole survivor of this pioneering model.
